Paint removal from factory painted body parts:
A fully factory painted Lada door with a paint layer about 100 microns thick. It is clear from the pictures that all the sanding done on the metal in advance is visible, in this case the minimal sanding that was done in the factory is completely visible.
Paint removal from subsequently repaired and polished body parts:
This test surface is a “brain-filled” door that was previously locked and painted. According to the lessons from the pictures, here we were dealing with a 1.5 mm layer of putty and paint, but this didn’t cause any problems for the soda spray either, we got the surface back to the maximum before painting. On the other hand, understandably, the scattering time also increased, almost twice. The interesting thing about soda blasting is that although it removes layers of paint, it cannot remove rust such as surface rust. In return, it is clearly visible where the rusting of the body element started.
